It also incorporates the idea of green roofs and green walls, which break the monotonous pattern and give a soothing composition to dwell on for the patient to get respite from their illness.

The Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital is contemporary hospital providing a soothing environment for the pa- tient with the use of colour and natural light incorporated in its design. The hospital has been designed to minimize the staff requirements, optimizing the location of facili- ties and their efficient functioning. The roof slopes are designed with a system to conserve rain water, which is very crucial in this context.
